The OCEANIDS consortium met in Heraklion, Crete, on 15–16 July 2026 for its 5th and final Plenary Meeting. Hosted by Geosystems Hellas (GSH) and the Region of Crete, the two-day meeting brought project partners together to reflect on the project’s achievements, review final results, and discuss the long-term sustainability and impact of OCEANIDS beyond the project’s lifetime.
Held at the Heraklion Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the meeting provided an opportunity to review progress across all work packages, with a particular focus on activities completed during the project’s final implementation period. Partners presented updates on project management, stakeholder engagement, technical developments, platform validation, communication and dissemination, and exploitation activities, highlighting how the project has delivered user-driven climate information services for coastal regions.
The programme also featured presentations from external experts and stakeholders, including future funding opportunities under the European Innovation Council Pathfinder Challenges, insights from the Port of Heraklion and Green Marine Europe, and contributions from the OCEANIDS Advisory Board. These discussions reinforced the project’s role in supporting climate resilience and sustainable decision-making for coastal communities.
Beyond the technical sessions, partners visited the Port of Heraklion, where they explored the local maritime context and discussed the practical application of OCEANIDS solutions with regional stakeholders. The meeting also provided valuable networking opportunities, enabling partners to exchange experiences, strengthen collaborations, and reflect on the project’s achievements after 32 months of cooperation.
As the final consortium meeting, the event marked an important milestone for OCEANIDS, celebrating the collective efforts of all partners while looking ahead to the continued uptake and sustainability of the project’s results across Europe.
